Just for signing up, you will get a coupon for  a free gently-used book to keep (note: coupon redemption is on hold at the moment until libraries reopen). At 500 points, all children birth to age 11 will receive a new book keep as well as a fun craft project (pick up at curbside). Each week there will be a new hands-on opportunity for families to work together to design, experiment, and invent in an online space! Camera and microphone use is encouraged.

This week we will be making a DIY Zen Garden. Create your own mini zen garden using sand and other natural materials to practice focus and meditation through exploration!

Little Bytes Online

Did you know that children can learn the foundations of coding before they can write and spell?  Learn basic problem-solving skills and new vocabulary for children as young as 4 to give them the building blocks to becoming an excellent coder.  Join us online for guided activities as we teach your child the basis of code - problem solving!

Who’s it for? Children ages 4-7 and their favorite grownups. An adult must participate onscreen with their child at all times. 

What will you do? In this online program, you and your child will play games, do activities, and learn vocabulary words that support basic coding skills.

Little Bytes Online is an 8 week series.  Program sessions will be held on April 5, 12, 19, 26, May 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 3:30-4pm online. Registration is required and by registering you agree to attend all 8 online program sessions. You will receive an email with additional registration information and a required survey. Your registration cannot be finalized until you complete the emailed registration survey.

Supplies: All families will need to pick up a Little Bytes Online Supply Box from your local Phoenix Public Library branch. You will receive information about supply pick-up after you register. 

Note that customers on the waiting list for any Little Bytes Online series will be given first priority for registration on any new series offerings.
