IRC US Citizenship Class

The International Rescue Committee is sponsoring this 13-week series of classes which will help participants prepare for the citizenship process, including the USCIS (United States Citizenship and Immigration Services) interview. Coursework will ensure that participants exhibit a firm knowledge of United States civics. Classes are free to the public. No registration is required but participation in all 13 classes is strongly preferred. The first class is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7th. The last class will be held on Wednesday, December, 7th. Please bring a permanent resident card, state ID and a pen/pencil with you and be ready to learn and have fun! Mental Gymnastics

Try something new that's good for your brain and fun too! Explore strategies to improve memory. Practice processing and recalling information. Recognize individual strengths. Use patterns and mnemonics as tools. Learn to trust yourself and build confidence. This 4-week program will be presented by Alyce Herrick, a neighbor, mother and grandmother. Alyce has taught at two local community colleges. However, she feels that developing and copyrighting the Academic, Behavior, Coordination Fitness Program to correct learning problems is her most significant professional accomplishment. She has always been a firm believer that learning should be a fun experience. Come join us as we perform some mental gymnastics! Registration required.
