Play the Summer Reading Game at your neighborhood library. Register online starting May 1st at maricopacountyreads.org or pick up a gameboard at your library. Earn 1 point for every minute of reading! Earn more points for attending fun-filled library events or participating in challenges.
Just for signing up, you can pick a free book to keep from the Friends corner at your library. But, wait, there's more!
  • Little Ones (birth to 4) get a free tote bag for signing up
  • Kids (ages 5-11) receive a Peter Piper coupon for free pizza
  • Teens (12-17) get a free water bottle
  •  At 500 points, everyone receives a Chipotle coupon (while supplies last) 
  • At 1,000 points, everyone receives a free book of their choice
  • GRAND PRIZE DRAWING! Readers who earn at least 1,000 points by August 1st are automatically entered into drawings for family memberships at great Phoenix museums (such as the Children's Museum, the Arizona Science Center, the Phoenix Zoo, the Desert Botanical Garden, the Phoenix Art Museum, and the Heard Museum) -- 25 memberships will be awarded!

Babies and caregivers also are introduced to Baby Sign Language, a wonderful way to grow babies’ communication skills. BabyTime gives your baby the opportunity to hear lots of language while you get to know other families with young children. What is your child learning? Hearing stories and rhymes helps your baby develop language skills. Using sign language speeds babies’ language development and improves parent/child communication. #pplstorytime #babytimewithsign

By teaching her how to focus, take turns and think creatively, you will get her ready for school.  This program includes basic concept knowledge (colors, numbers, letters) as well as structured activities.

Bilingual Kindergarten Bootcamp

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROGRAM.
This class meets on the following dates: June 9th, June 16th, June 23rd, June 30th, July 7th, July 14th, and July 21st. Attendance is expected at all 7 classes.
Kindergarten Bootcamp gives parents tools, information, and activities to help prepare their children for school success in a fun, educational, and interactive setting. The series consists of seven sessions, 1 hour each, for 4-5 year olds who are preparing to enter kindergarten in Fall 2017 along with their parent or caregiver. Under the guidance of an early literacy specialist, parents and caregivers work with their children on foundational skills which have been demonstrated to be the most important for both a successful kindergarten and school experience. It is important that parents and children attend every session including Week 7 graduation!

REGISTRACIÓN ES REQUERIDA PARA LA PARTICIPACIÓN EN ESTE PROGRAMA.
Esta clase se reunirá en las siguientes fechas: 9 de junio, 16 de junio, 23 de junio, 30 de junio, 7 de julio, 14 de julio, 21 de julio. La asistencia es requerida para cada una de las 7 clases.
Kindergarten Bootcamp da a los padres herramientas, información y actividades para ayudar y preparar a sus hijos para el éxito escolar en un ambiente divertido, educativo e interactivo. La serie consista de 7 sesiones de 1 hora cada una, para niños de 4 o 5 años que se están preparando para entrar al kindergarten, en el otoño 2017, junto con sus padres o cuidadores. Padres bajo la guía de un especialista en aprendizaje infantil trabajaran con sus hijos sobre habilidades fundamentales escolares que han demostrado ser importantes para una experiencia escolar exitosa. ¡Es importante que los padres e hijos asistan a cada sesión incluyendo a la graduación en la séptima semana!

Binary Code Keychains

Binary is a numeric system that uses only two digits – 0 and 1. Computers store data and perform operations using this system of 0s and 1s. For this activity, you will spell our initials using colored beads that represent Binary Code to create unique keychains!
