Preschool Reading Strategy 4/21/2015 5:00:00 PM
Preschool Reading Strategy

A preschool reading strategy that has shown to be extremely effective with children is called "Dialogic Reading." In Dialogic Reading the adult helps the child become the teller of the story. The adult becomes the listener, the questioner, and the audience for the child. Children learn most from books when they are actively involved, and through Dialogic Reading, children are the center of a conversation about the book. This is a two part workshop, and will help parents learn the techniques associated with Dialogic Reading. Session one of the workshop is for parents only and is one hour in duration. Session two of the workshop is for parents and their child to attend and gives the parent and child an opportunity to practice Dialogic Reading.

Register one time for both sessions
