We READ 30-day Challenge

Make reading a habit by taking the We READ 30-day challenge! Kids, birth to 12, read (or are read to) for 30 days anytime between February 1 and April 1. It's easy! Just pick up a gameboard at any Phoenix Public Library and mark off each day that children read (outside of school).

Children may visit the library for a Treasure Chest prize after 15 days and earn a free We READ t-shirt designed by a local artist after 30 days. Grown-ups who read to children for 30 days earn a free reusable tote bag (perfect for library books!)

Babytime gives your baby the opportunity to hear lots of language while you get to know other young families. What is your child learning? Hearing stories and rhymes helps your baby develop language skills.

Share books, stories, music and activities in a fun interactive program that builds early literacy skills and introduces children to science and math. This program is designed for children three to five years old accompanied by a favorite adult. 
What is your child learning?Children who can count, recognize geometric shapes and patterns and are eager to explore the world around them will be better prepared to succeed in kindergarten. Your kids are natural scientists. You can help them discover the world, build vocabulary and master basic science concepts.

Chess Club

The Spark Chess Program (SCP) is a new and exciting chess program that’s fun for everyone! Come and learn the basics of chess or expand your skills. Class runs from February 1st - March 22nd. Registration is required.

Sign up for the Feb. 1st date for registration for all 8 class dates.

Coach Richard has been the National Junior Open under 15 champion, Arizona State Grade Champion for several years, and Scholastic National Co-Champion.
