Summer Reading Game
Play the  Summer Reading Game June 1 - August 1 at your neighborhood library. Register online at maricopacountyreads.org or pick up a gameboard at your library. Earn 1 point for every minute of reading! Earn more points for attending fun-filled library events or participating in challenges. At 500 points, earn a Chipotle coupon (while supplies last). At 1,000 points, earn a free book of your choice. Plus, kids receive free Peter Piper Pizza coupons, ribbons and medals AND the first 3,000 children ages 5-11 to sign up in the library receive a free digital reading timer!
NEW this year! This class meets on the following dates: June 18, June 25, July 2, July 9, July 16, July 23, and July 30.  Attendance is expected at all 7 classes.

 

Kindergarten Bootcamp gives parents tools, information, and activities to help prepare their children for school success in a fun, educational, and interactive setting. The series consists of seven sessions, 1 hour each, for children who are preparing to enter kindergarten in Fall 2016 along with their parent or caregiver. Under the guidance of an early literacy specialist, parents and caregivers work with their children on foundational skills which have been demonstrated to be the most important for both a successful kindergarten and school experience. It is important that parents and children attend every session including Week 7 graduation!

Family SPOT Resource Center presents Play On the Go.  Kindergarten readiness starts at birth!  Families with children birth to 5 years old who attend Play SPOT engage in hands-on kindergarten readiness activities.  Each family receives a toolkit which includes at least one book, the month's daily at-home activities and great resources.  Supported by a grant from the First Things First North Phoenix Regional Partnership Council.
