We READ 30-day Challenge

Make reading a habit by taking the We READ 30-day challenge! Kids, birth to 12, read (or are read to) for 30 days anytime between February 1 and April 1. It's easy! Just pick up a gameboard at any Phoenix Public Library and mark off each day that children read (outside of school).

Children may visit the library for a Treasure Chest prize after 15 days and earn a free We READ t-shirt designed by a local artist after 30 days. Grown-ups who read to children for 30 days earn a free reusable tote bag (perfect for library books!)

This program is designed for children birth to five years old accompanied by a favorite adult. What is your child learning? Children who love books and stories, and have opportunities to engage in active storytelling, become more successful readers.

This week we will have a special guest -- Miss Arizona Teen USA! Feel free to wear your royal clothing and accessories. Stay after the storytime for royal crafts and activities.

Free tickets will be available the morning of the event.

Watercolor Painting/Instruction for Adults 55+

This interactive program is specifically designed for adults 55+ to provide participants the opportunity to master new skills in watercolor instruction, while socializing with their peers of the same age. The 8 classes build upon one another, to a culminating art show where you will present your final art pieces and socialize with your class mates and community. FREE of charge, thanks to a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and in cooperation with Lifetime Arts.org. Registration is limited to 12 adults, age 55+.
