Kindergarten Bootcamp

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS PROGRAM.  To register, click here.

This class meets on the following dates: June 7, June 14, June 21, June 28, July 5, July 12, and July 19.  Attendance is expected at all 7 classes.

Kindergarten Bootcamp gives parents tools, information, and activities to help prepare their children for school success in a fun, educational, and interactive setting. The series consists of seven sessions, 1 hour each, for children who are preparing to enter kindergarten in Fall 2016, along with their parent or caregiver. Under the guidance of an early literacy specialist, parents and caregivers work with their children on foundational skills which have been demonstrated to be the most important for both a successful kindergarten and school experience. It is important that parents and children attend every session including Week 7 graduation!

Support for early literacy programs is provided by a grant from First Things First, which partners with families and communities to give all Arizona children the opportunity to arrive at kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed. Learn more at FirstThingsFirstAZ.gov.

Toddlers have special learning needs unique from babies and preschoolers. Curiosity and conversation really blossom at this age, so we’ve created a special fast-paced storytime for two- and three-year-olds (accompanied by a favorite adult) to enjoy interactive stories, songs and games that encourage emerging language skills in a session dedicated to active toddlers.
What is your child learning? Your toddler learns nine new words a day! Hearing stories, songs and rhymes helps develop your child's vocabulary.

Space is limited; free tickets will be handed out 30 minutes prior to program.

Storytimes at Agave Library are supported by a grant from First Things First Phoenix North Region.
