“Heroes: La luminaria de mi vida” 
 October 20 - November 1, 2014

An exhibit of hand-made altars in the tradition ofel Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). The theme, “Heroes: La luminaria de mi vida,” inspired participants to create altars that honor the personal heroes who have inspired their lives.

Join us for an opening reception and Día de los Muertos storytelling from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23.

Una exhibición de altares hechos a mano por la tradición de el Día de los Muertos. 

El tema, "Héroes: La luminaria de mi vida," inspiró a los participantes a crear altares que honran a sus héroes personales que han inspirado su vida.

Acompáñenos en una recepción de apertura, con la presentación especial de Zarco Guerrero, un contador de cuentos, que estará narrando la historia del Día de los Muertos.

Veterans Day | Exhibit: A Debt Owed

Veterans Day @BurtonBarr - Exhibit: A Debt Owed, a salute to the sacrifice and service of American military men and women past, present, and future.

The military history of Arizona and the Nation, displayed in artifacts from the Arizona Military Museum and the Burton Barr collection. Includes access to WWII After Action Reports of the U.S. Third Army and official military photographs from World War I and II. 

This exhibit is located in the Hive Gallery on the 2nd floor of the Burton Barr Library. Open to the public beginning 11/9/2014 and ends on Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day, 12/7/2014.

Managing Your Team: Hiring, Team Development, Leadership Skills

Having the right team to support your business is a key trait of a successful business venture. Participants will learn how to attract, retain, and grow a motivated team as well as best practices for hiring and firing employees.


The Business Roadmap Program is a series of 8 start-up workshops detailing the essentials for your business. Please register for each class individually.

  1. Planning for Business: Creating Your Business Plan 
  2. File and Register Your Business: LLC’s, EIN, Trademark and Licenses
  3. Financing for Your Business: Raising Capital, Crowd funding and Loans
  4. Setting the Right Price: Setting Fees, Price Structures and Revenue Projections
  5. Getting the Word Out: Branding, Marketing Strategy and Public Relations
  6. Treat Your Customers Right: Customer Service and Business Ethics
  7. Managing Your Team: Hiring, Team Development and Leadership Skills (current workshop)
  8. Getting and Setting the Deal: Contracts, Proposals and Agreements

The Hacker Haven a free flow, try it out tech fest each week. All ages and families welcome.

Cómo administrar un equipo: Contratación, desarrollo de equipo, liderazgo

Tener el equipo adecuado para apoyar su negocio es una característica clave de un negocio exitoso. Los participantes aprenderán cómo atraer, retener y hacer crecer un equipo motivado, así como las mejores prácticas de contratación y despido de empleados.


El programa Camino para su Negocio es una serie de 8 talleres para destacar los elementos necesarios en su negocio. Inscríbase para cada clase individualmente por favor.

  1. La planificación de su empresa: Creación de un plan de negocios 
  2. Cómo registrar su negocio: LLC, EIN, y registro de marcas
  3. Cómo financiar su empresa: Capital inicial, crowdfunding y préstamos
  4. Cómo establecer el precio justo: Tarifas, Estructura de precios y proyecciones de ingresos
